About two weeks into living in my 2023 Forest River Forester MBS2401B and this slide out I've never dealt with before is leaking water from the bottom. The leak occurs specifically when the slide is in the retracted position during wind-driven rain events. Water is penetrating at floor level beneath the dinette area of the full wall slide assembly.

Walked out to prep our RV this morning and discovered our Lippert Power Gear slide motor is making grinding noises and won't extend properly. My RV's slide motor is failing and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get replacement parts. The slide is getting sluggish and I suspect it's either the motor brushes or possibly something in the gearbox itself.

I've been searching everywhere for Lippert Power Gear parts but I'm not sure where to look or what my options are. As it stands, the replacement parts are ridiculously expensive - a $100 gearbox, $50 brake, and $100 motor, but Lippert wants nearly $1000 for the whole assembly. Schwintek slide is throwing a 6-flash error code and won't move in or out. Happened mid-trip with the slide fully extended and now I can't retract it to drive to the dealer. Manual says 6 flashes means motor short but both motors test fine with a multimeter. …more

Between the $800 repair quote and my Schwintek slide that only goes one direction, I'm seriously considering tackling this fix myself. Got a Schwintek slide that's being a total pain - it only moves in one direction no matter what I do.

Here's the kicker: I've already swapped out both motors, got a brand new controller, even ran fresh wiring. Still doing the same thing! When I reverse the RET and EXT wires at the controller, it'll go the other direction but then won't come back. Consistently got error #8 when I tried the override.

I ran a jumper to motor #2, tried motor #1, checked fuses, replaced the RET wire connector, and still nothing. I disengaged both motors, manually pushed the slide in and measured both sides to confirm it was even. The motors work, the slide moves fine mechanically, but something's not letting it reverse properly.
